Snow Mountain garlicĀ (also known asĀ Allium sativumĀ L.,Ā Allium schoenoprasum, andĀ Kashmiri garlic), is a subspecies of garlic which is found in the mountainous in j&k. It grows well in the western himalayasĀ at altitudes of up to 1,800Ā m (6,000Ā ft), in temperatures as low as ā10 °C (14 °F), and with very little oxygen.Ā In hindiĀ it is known asĀ ek pothi lahsun.
Mountain garlicĀ reduces the possibility of coronary diseases by reducing cholesterol levels. It prevents the formation of the blood clot and lowers blood thickness and density which lowers the possibility of strokes and heart blockage. It is also used as a blood-thinning agent
