Snow Mountain garlic (also known as Allium sativum L., Allium schoenoprasum, and Kashmiri garlic), is a subspecies of garlic which is found in the mountainous in j&k. It grows well in the western himalayas at altitudes of up to 1,800 m (6,000 ft), in temperatures as low as −10 °C (14 °F), and with very little oxygen. In hindi it is known as ek pothi lahsun.

Mountain garlic reduces the possibility of coronary diseases by reducing cholesterol levels. It prevents the formation of the blood clot and lowers blood thickness and density which lowers the possibility of strokes and heart blockage. It is also used as a blood-thinning agent
